Meet Paddy, our handsome 17-year-old donkey with a heart as big as his bray!

Paddy lives at Oakfield Community with his best friend, Truffles. The boys were entrusted to our care by their previous owner, Jane, when she was preparing to move. Jane still visits regularly, and Paddy and Truffles are always delighted to see her.

Paddy loves people and is famous for giving gentle head cuddles, often resting his head on your shoulder for a fuss. He's always happy when friends stop by and will loudly announce their arrival with a bray that sounds more like a T-Rex than a donkey!

A big fan of treats and attention, Paddy knows exactly who his friends are and who is most likely to have a pocket full of snacks. As soon as someone he recognises arrives, he'll call out to greet them. Donkeys are incredibly intelligent, and Paddy is no exception. He can remember people he met more than ten years ago and still recognise them when they return to visit.

Paddy plays an important role at Oakfield, helping people build confidence, make connections and experience the joy of spending time with animals. His gentle nature, affectionate cuddles and playful character makes him a favourite with everyone he meets.
